Daily Protect is a rinse-off conditioner designed to support both color-treated hair and long-term scalp health.

It helps smooth and condition the hair, protect against dryness and environmental stress, and keep color-treated hair looking soft, glossy, and vibrant. The formula also contains advanced scalp-care ingredients including Fullerene, Ashitaba Extract, Red Clover Extract, and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3.

Unlike the Root Vanish Color Treatment and Color Shampoo, Daily Protect does not deposit color.

No. Daily Protect contains no color pigments or hair dyes, so it will not darken your hair, cover grays, or change your highlights.

Within the Root Vanish system:

Color Treatment builds gray coverage.
Color Shampoo maintains the color you have built.
Color Brush provides immediate, temporary touch-ups.
Daily Protect conditions and protects the hair and scalp without adding color.

This also makes it a good option for salon-colored, highlighted, or naturally colored hair.

Color-treated hair can become more porous, rough, and vulnerable to dryness and environmental stress, all of which can make color look dull or fade more quickly.

Daily Protect combines conditioning agents and smoothing silicones with antioxidant ingredients such as Fullerene to help keep the hair surface smooth, conditioned, and protected from oxidative stress.

The goal is not to continually add more pigment, but to help maintain the softness, shine, and overall condition that make your color look its best.

Fullerene is an advanced antioxidant ingredient used in Japanese skin, scalp, and hair-care formulations.

Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals generated by environmental stressors that can contribute to oxidative damage. In Daily Protect, Fullerene supports the formula's protective approach while ingredients such as squalane help maintain softness and moisture.

Fullerene is not a sunscreen or SPF. Its role here is antioxidant protection and hair/scalp conditioning.

Capixyl® is a cosmetic scalp-care complex combining Red Clover Flower Extract and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3, a biomimetic peptide.

The combination has been studied for supporting the environment around the hair follicle, including factors associated with hair anchoring and the natural hair cycle. Ashitaba (Angelica keiskei) is a Japanese botanical studied for its relationship with the biological pathways involved in natural hair pigmentation.

Research on the extract has examined its effects on melanocyte activity and melanin-related processes. We include Ashitaba as part of a long-term scalp and pigment-care approach.

It is important to distinguish this from hair color: Ashitaba does not dye gray hair or instantly restore pigment to an existing gray strand. Daily Protect is designed to support the scalp and hair environment over time rather than create an immediate color change.

Yes. Unlike conditioners designed only for the lengths and ends of the hair, Daily Protect is formulated with scalp-care ingredients and may be worked gently through both the scalp and hair.

After shampooing, distribute the conditioner through the scalp and hair, leave it on for approximately 2–3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

If your scalp is particularly sensitive, we recommend patch testing before your first full application.

Yes. Daily Protect is designed for regular use and can be used every time you shampoo.

For the Root Vanish color routine, we especially recommend using it after Color Shampoo to condition the hair while maintaining the color you have gradually built.

Once you have reached your preferred level of gray coverage, Color Shampoo can be used for maintenance, followed by Daily Protect as your conditioner.

Yes. Because Daily Protect does not contain color pigments, it will not gradually darken highlighted sections in the way a color-depositing shampoo or treatment can.

It can be used on highlighted, bleached, salon-colored, or naturally colored hair when additional conditioning and protection are desired.

Yes. The formula contains Dimethicone, Amodimethicone, and Bis-Cetearyl Amodimethicone.

These conditioning silicones are intentionally used to smooth the hair surface, reduce friction, improve manageability, and help damaged or color-treated hair feel softer and more polished.

If you specifically follow a silicone-free hair-care routine, this product would not be considered silicone-free.

There is no added Fragrance/Parfum listed in the formula. However, Daily Protect contains botanical aromatic oils including orange, bergamot, rosemary, geranium, marjoram, ginger, and frankincense oils.

These give the formula a naturally derived aroma, so we would not describe the product as completely unscented.

The formula is designed with scalp care in mind, but sensitivity varies from person to person.

For visible gray coverage, use the Root Vanish Color Treatment, Color Shampoo, or Color Brush depending on the level and speed of coverage you need.

Store the product away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and high humidity.

For best product quality, we recommend using it within 6 months after opening. If unopened and stored properly, use it within 3 years of purchase.
